Breakfast
Perfect Pancakes
1.5 c flour
1 T baking powder
.5 t salt
3 T sugar
1.5 c milk
1 egg
3 T butter, melted
Mix dry ingredients. Make a well in the center for wet ingredients. Mix until smoothish (but not too much).
Magleby's Syrup
1/2 c butter
1 c buttermilk
2 T Karo syrup
1 t baking soda
1.5 c sugar
1 t vanilla
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook 7 minutes. Remove from heat add vanilla.
Biscuits
2 c flour
1 T baking powder
1 T sugar
1 t cream of tarter
.5 t salt
.5 c butter, chilled
.75 c whipping cream or milk
Mix dry ingredients. Cut in butter and add milk. Work with dough as little as possible. Roll out and cut. Bake @ 450 for 10-12 minutes.
Apple German Pancakes
6 eggs
1.5 c milk
1 t vanilla
1 c flour
3 T sugar
.5 t salt
.25 t cinnamon
.5 c butter
3 apples, thinly sliced
3 T brown sugar
Preheat oven to 425. Melt butter in 9"x13" pan. Add apple. Return to oven until butter sizzles; do not let butter brown. Mix eggs, flour, white sugar, and vanilla. Add salt & cinnamon until blended. (Best to use immersion blender to stand blender). Pour batter over apples & sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake 20 minutes or until puffed and lightly brown.
Blueberry Muffins
1 3/4 c all purpose flour, sifted
1/4 c sugar
1 1/2 t baking powder
3/4 t salt
1 egg, well beaten
3/4 c milk
1/3 c butter, melted
1 c blueberries
Sift dry ingredients in bowl. Add in egg, milk, and butter. Stir quickly, until moist. Fold in blueberries. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes.
Gardiner Waffles A
1.25 c flour
1 T baking powder
3 T sugar
3/4 t salt
3 eggs, separated & well beaten
1.25 c milk
3 T vegetable oil
Mix dry ingredients. Separately, mix eggs yolks, milk, & oil - beat and add to flour mixture. Fold in eggs whites, beaten to stiff peak.
Gardiner Waffles B
2 eggs
2 c buttermilk
2 c flour
2 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/4 c + 2 T shortening
Mix all.
